PLANON : ENTER NOTES IN INTERNAL COMMUNICATION SECTION

Notes left in the Internal Communications section in the app will show up in the Communication Logs in the Planon back office.

If another technician gets reassigned to a particular sub-order, they will be able to see notes you’ve left using the Internal Communications section. If you leave a note via the Comments field, the next technician won’t be able to see any previously-saved notes.

Heads and Service Centre will be able to see the notes left via Internal Communications even while the sub-order is still assigned to you in PMFS. If you leave a note via Comments, the note would appear in Internal Notes in the Planon backend, but only AFTER changing the status of the sub-order to “Discontinue”, which releases the work order back to the internal coordinator.

For better transparency and communication, please leave notes in the ‘Internal Communication’ section in Planon.

BRIGHT IDEAS: WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!

We know this year has been filled with COVID-19 information and adapting to new changes both in the workplace and at home, and you may not have had time to present your Bright Ideas.

But we are always look forward to hearing your input on operational efficiencies as well as any new and fresh ideas you have to share with the department. A Bright Idea submission can also lead to winning one of our staff awards at the end of the year!

We encourage everyone in Building Operations to submit their Bright Ideas that contribute to the success of our five departmental strategic priorities:

  • Employee Engagement
  • Leadership Development
  • Asset Stewardship
  • Innovation
  • Customer Experience

Please visit https://buildingoperations.ubc.ca/staff/bright-ideas to learn more and submit your Bright Idea.  If your Bright Idea is selected, you will be contacted and possibly asked for a follow up meeting to further expand on your idea.
