Kayna is joining the Transition Team as Facilities Architectural Manager, reporting to Nikii Hoglund, Director of Asset Replacement and Improvements. In this new role, Kayna will be working closely with the Architectural Trades Team to gain a fulsome understanding of architectural maintenance considerations to provide a better balance of the diverse needs of multiple stakeholders within UBC.
Prior to joining UBC, Kayna worked in Vancouver at IBI Group Architects Canada and at Iredale Group Architecture as an architect and project manager. As a strong project manager with a keen eye for detail and an approachable, hands-on, architect with notable leadership skills, Kayna will have a pivotal role on the Transition Team, and will be representing Building Operations on all new buildings and significant renovation working groups, as well as providing Architectural services and guidance for Building Operations.
Kayna is a registered Architect (AIBC) and LEED AP BD +C with a Bachelor and Masters of Science in Architecture from Ahmadu Bello University in Nigeria.
