BUILDING OPS TEAM STORMED THE WALL

On March 27, Building Operations competed in the President’s challenge to Storm the Wall. Our team proved to be a strong opponent with Francis Lepage completing the swim, Greg Scott sprinting, Andrew Porritt cycling, Jen Sheel completing the long run, and Bryan Archibald being the man to get us all over the wall – including himself.  Our co-ed team finished first with the all-male team from Properties Trust nudging our team out of first place by seconds.

Congratulations Building Ops!

EMMS PROGRESS ON CURRENT STATE PROCESS MAPPING – STEP 1 IS 79% COMPLETE

The EMMS (Enterprise Maintenance Management System) project team along with a core group of managers, heads/sub-heads and crew members have been working on preparing for the start of the implementation of the new system.

In order to make improvements we needed to map current state processes so that we all understand exactly where we excel and where the pain points are.

The current state process mapping team, Hayley MacDonald with Evan Colville, have distilled the process down to 4 key steps outlined in the graph below.

  1. Facilitate workshops to understand the process
  2. Document the process so that it can be used as a key communication tool moving forward
  3. Send the documented process maps back for review and edit to ensure all steps are accurately captured
  4. Pass on for final validation.

Thank you to all who have been involved to date.  We are on track — keep up the great work!
