Lindsay Forsyth promoted to Sub-Head Landscape Technologist

Lindsay has worked with the Soft Landscape Crew for 32 years at UBC. He began his career in 1989 as a Labourer 2, and worked his way to Head Labourer of the Hard Landscape Shop (currently Streets & Operations Support), before becoming a Landscape Technologist in 2001.

In his time at UBC, Lindsay has faced many challenges and proven himself a reliable and resilient team member with a wealth of institutional knowledge and experience. Lindsay has demonstrated a continuing interest in developing his leadership potential by completing various management and leadership trainings, and by taking on many diverse roles and responsibilities. Over the years he has acted in the capacity of temporary Shop Head and Sub-Head, temporary Soft-Landscape Manager, Shop Steward, and Vice President at Large for CUPE II6.

His leadership and years of landscape maintenance experience are qualities that contribute greatly to the stewardship of UBC’s public realm.

Jeff Bosworth promoted as Landscape Technologist Apprentice

Jeff is the successful candidate for the Landscape Technologist Apprentice position in Municipal Services. He will be learning horticulture, and working closely with John Neumann, Landscape Technologist in the Soft Landscape Shop to gain expertise on irrigation.

Jeff began his work with the Soft Landscape Shop as a seasonal Labourer in the spring of 2011, and was hired full-time in January of 2013. In the time he has been working with the gardeners, he has worked in almost all parts of the campus, acted as a safety rep for the shop, and proven himself to be an excellent employee with a great interest in all aspects of garden maintenance.

Jeff has a passion for art and design, and he particularly enjoys being outdoors. He starts his formal schooling at Kwantlen Polytechnic University in Langley this coming September 2021.
