‘DESCRIPTION’ FIELD IN PLANON IS NOW CUSTOMIZABLE

The “Description” field in Planon service requests is now customizable. The preferred naming convention is to provide the building name, room number, and a brief description of the issue.

BERWICK BUILDING REMAINS A CORE BUILDING TO MAINTAIN

Please be advised that a new lease has been executed for childcare services in the Berwick Building. This means that you may receive requests for service from time to time, as this remains as a core building for us to maintain.

Please be aware that the lease agreement stipulates that Building Operations will undertake the following:

  • Maintain, clean, operate, upkeep, and repair the structure and exterior of the building, parking lots, playground fence, and playground equipment supplied,
  • Maintain the interior of the building (reasonable wear and tear only),
  • Provide access to garbage removal provided that all recycling bylaws and laws are carefully adhered to;
  • Provide snow removal services to the entrance road, parking lot and pathway between the entrance of the building and the parking lot; and
  • provide landscaping maintenance;

But not:

  • Any maintenance or repair needed to rectify damage or excessive wear

If you receive a service request for this building and are uncertain whether it is something you should be working on, or whether it may fall under a portion of the lease agreement as indicated above, please contact Jeet Amritsar (jeetender.amritsar@ubc.cadirectly for clarification.

WEEKLY EMERGENCY TIP: HOW MUCH WATER SHOULD I HAVE FOR AN EMERGENCY?

Plan to have at least four litres of water per person per day for drinking, personal hygiene, preparing food and dishwashing. A family of four should store 48 litres of water for a 3 day period. Don’t forget to have some extra water for your pets.

For more information about water storage and treatment, visit Government of Canada’s website at: https://www.getprepared.gc.ca/cnt/rsrcs/faq-en.aspx
