Patrizia TodaroPatrizia Todaro, Director, Human Resources strives to help the people of the University of British Columbia (UBC) have a better workplace experience—one where individuals feel valued, engaged and part of an exciting, vibrant community.

After completing her undergraduate degree at the Università degli Studi di Messina in Italy, Patrizia came to UBC, successfully completing her Master of Arts in Comparative Literature. Her love of the people and the place would compel her to stay with UBC however.

During her 14 years with the university, Patrizia’s genuine, caring approach to the people she serves has helped her progress into roles with greater responsibilities within the Human Resources function. In her current role, Patrizia creates and implements programs, practices, policies, and initiatives designed to promote the vision and values of UBC and its Focus on People: Workplace Practices initiative. In addition to her work with Building Operations, Patrizia also leads strategic planning, coordination and implementation of human resources for UBC’s Finance, Resources and Operations portfolio and UBC IT.

Patrizia believes that everyone is a leader in their area; by leveraging individual strengths in the team, we can achieve excellence in leadership at all levels of the organization.

Patrizia, her partner, and their two children call Vancouver home.
