Denise_Pearce_2In her role as Director, Trades, Denise Pearce manages the support and maintenance of the core structures at the UBC Point Grey Campus – from day-to-day operations to developing and implementing strategic maintenance plans. Denise also leads the teams who ensure the distribution and maintenance of electrical, gas, and water; storm, potable and sewage utilities.

Denise’s 20-year career started at Vancouver General Hospital in 1995, and she joined UBC in 2001 as a Facilities Manager before being promoted to the leadership of the Building Operations Customer Service team in 2010.

A consensus builder, Denise leads a team that is deft at balancing multiple competing agendas to build great relationships and align short-term gains with long-term strategy. Denise also works to drive employee engagement in her team by showing hands-on leadership in times of challenge while maintaining alignment to the big picture of service excellence.

Denise is a fervent supporter of UBC’s United Way campaign and works in her own community to lead fundraising campaigns and organize children’s team events.

With her husband and two children in Delta, Denise keeps balance in her life through her love of interior design and daily exercise.
