APRIL 13: CRANE LIFT FOR USB & CHEM E ROOFTOP UNIT
The crane lift for USB and Chemistry E rooftop unit installation have now been rescheduled for Tuesday, April 13, 2021, starting at 7:00 a.m.
This work will be conducted in two locations — above the Project Services office in USB, and then moving over to Chemistry Block E. The old units will be removed and replaced with a new unit on the same day.
At the USB location, a lift will be parked at the front of the USB parking lot for the day to complete this work. On April 13, 2021, all vehicles that park in the front parking lot of USB will need to park in lot B4 at the end of their shift on April 12, 2021. Lot B4 is located off Agronomy Road to the right of Orchard Commons.
The electric vehicles will be moved to West Parkade overnight and an email notification will be provided advising those who wish to use them on April 13, 2021 with their locations.

TECHNICIANS SHOULD ONLY LOG INTO PLANON PMFSAPP WITH ONE DEVICE
If you are a technician using the Planon Mobile Field Services (PMFS), you need to choose whether you will use an iPad or an iPhone to log into Planon. The PMFS app does not sync across devices. For example, if you login to Planon on an iPad to complete a Preventative Maintenance checklist, and then grab your iPhone for a reactive job, the PMFS app will contain different information. You might have work orders on one device that don’t show up on the other. In other words, you can’t use an iPhone on one day, and an iPad on another. Please select and stick with one device.
For questions, or if this is a major hindrance to your work, please contact Deb Capps, deb.capps@ubc.ca to talk through a solution that will allow you to use two devices, though not simultaneously.
DECOMMISSION OF THE POWER HOUSE
UBC Water Supply Centre, the new water pump station near Martha Piper Plaza is now completed. The old water mains at the Power House is scheduled to be disconnected between April 9 and April 14, 2021.
During this transition, there will be changes to the flow of water in UBC’s pipes, however, disruptions are not anticipated. As the old system gets turned over to the new, there may be some cloudiness or discoloration in the water.
In the event that you see water from a tap that it is not as you regularly see it, please run your cold water tap, or flush a toilet to help remove the water from the system. The discoloration in the water may not be aesthetically pleasing, but is safe to use for consumption or food preparation.
