David Pepin joins Building Operations as Continuous Improvement Project Manager

David is the successful candidate for the 12-month term position as Continuous Improvement Project Manager, reporting to Janice Weigel, Superintendent, Business Services. He will be leading projects outlined in Building Operations’ strategic plan.

David has over 15 years of experience working in change management, continuous improvement and Lean Management. He has served several organizations in creating coaching plans, continuous improvement training, and developed a Master Delivery plan by using intermodal transportation instead of traditional trucking which resulted in a reduction of 120 tons of carbon footprint for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics.

In 2014, David created his own consulting company, The Lean Portal, which provides Lean Six Sigma training and certification. He advises organizations on how to elaborate strategies to cut costs, improve performance, and increase profitability by developing an unrelenting focus on operational improvements that will deliver the best quality products and services. Some of his clients include the Provincial Health Services Authority, Ministry of the Attorney General, City of Vancouver, and Rio Tinto Alcan.

David holds a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt certification and is a graduate from the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières, where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and Operations Management.
