Millwrights Saved the Day at BRDF

Shout out to the Millwright Team for their outstanding work on 18 September 2017. They worked tirelessly at the BRDF plant to repair the feed chain from the fuel bay until 11:30PM. Had this chain not been repaired we would have had to shut the plant down.

Building Ops Team Effort Saves COPP

Service Centre received complaints about the Copp building heating up to 32 degrees. The urgency was escalated due to temperature sensitive research happening in the facility. This building is not on BMS so it was difficult to troubleshoot. The troops comprising of BMS Operations, Steamfitters and Operating Engineers were then dispatched to brainstorm. Within an hour the problem was identified as a PRV that was passing steam and parts were tracked down. Steamfitters and OEs stayed after hours to get a refurbished PRV installed and commissioned to prevent the loss of research over the weekend. Thanks go to Willy Bois from BMS Ops Centre; Peter Lincoln, Dave Badcock and Yeng Choong Ho from control shop; Mike Kupfer and crew from pipe shop; and OEs Ernie Davis and John Szigeti. This was truly a team effort. Thanks Guys.
