They’re back! Keep eyes out for increased pedestrian and cycling traffic on campus

As the start of the school year approaches, it is important that we consider the increased traffic and pedestrian movement on campus.  We want to consider the following when moving through the campus to do our daily work:

  1. Only go into the public realm as required and avoid movement during class change times.
  2. When moving through the public realm make sure you travel at a reduced and safe speed which is appropriate for the pedestrian and cyclist movements in the area.
  3. Ensure you raise all bollards that are dropped to access the public realm area directly after you enter so as to maintain the safety of the people within the area by avoiding unauthorised access to the public realm.

There are 15,000 new students on campus this Fall and that is 15,000 chances to make a good first impression. Let’s be helpful and courteous out there. If somebody looks lost, they probably are, make sure you take a moment of your day to help them out.

Custodial Crews help Paint Shop deliver

Here’s an article submitted by Kevin Morris:

“Once again, how helpful Robert was this past weekend!  We were painting six classrooms in the Music Building and our keys did not give us access to the Library on the fourth floor and our ID cards did not work on the elevator.  One phone call and it was Robert to the rescue.  He was able to go above and beyond and lent me a fob and keys to the building for Saturday and Sunday.  We would not have been able to complete the entire job on the weekend otherwise.  Many thanks!”

Great team work guys! I am sure the Music Building occupants appreciate their beautified building.
