Senior staff attending workshop on Monday, October 5

The senior staff will be at a workshop on Monday, October 5th, from 8:00 am – 3:30 pm. Please plan accordingly and obtain required signatures in advance wherever possible to ensure minimal operational disruption.


Custodial Team prepared the Alumni Centre for a grand opening

The Robert H. Lee Alumni Centre was bright and shiny for its opening ceremonies thanks to the combined efforts of all custodial staff from all shifts. As UBC 100 staff were busy preparing for the celebrations for weeks, so was our custodial team.  They started scrubbing and polishing a week before and ensured every nook and cranny looked like brand new.

UBC Celebrates a Century of Education & History by recreating the iconic UBC image

 

On September 30, University of British Columbia turned 100 years old.  After a century since opening its doors to students in 1915, faculty, staff, students and alumni marked the occasion by recreating the iconic image of UBC.  See how it happened here.


Safety Reps Invited to Join UBC Safety Day on October 8

The University Health and Safety Committee invites Building Operations Safety Representatives to join Safety Day on October 8, 8:30 am – 12:00 pm at the Hong Kong Room in Marine Commons. This will be an opportunity to meet other Health & Safety Committee members, share experiences, listen to informative presentations and get a free lunch! Presenters will come in and educate you on topics including:

  • Communicating with Your Departments
  • Accident Investigations
  • Workplace Violence Prevention

Building Operations safety representatives are encouraged to attend but must communicate with their heads and managers to ensure workplace coverage. Register now and know more on how we keep UBC safe.

Staff are invited to submit a nomination to the Presidential search committee

The Board of Governors and the Senates of UBC have agreed to the Terms of Reference for a presidential search committee.  Faculty members, management and professional staff, and unionized staff are called to elect members to the search committee.
