Reminder: don’t park in the loading bay at IRC/Woodward Library

When parking at IRC/Woodward Library our vehicles may only use the reserved parking stalls in the pullout west of IRC, on Health Sciences Mall, just up from the loading bay. Watch for “Reserved  for Building Ops” signage coming up in the next few weeks.

Campus mail is not permitted to park anywhere but in the designated loading areas when delivering mail. When our vehicles block the loading bay, the mail truck drives by and the library doesn’t receive mail, including books that students have ordered.

If you have any concerns please contact Deb Capps for more information.

Check out the first of many asset templates posted on the wall next to the asset list. Please take a look and comment on them – Too much info? Too little info? Will having this info be valuable to you?

Also, take a moment to view our updated EAOS hallway poster for better communication on where we’re at and where we’re going.

Interviews for the Asset Data Manager will be extended, so if you’re are still interested and didn’t apply, you still have time! Email Andy Plumridge for setting up a time to chat.

Connect to UBCSecure and not Shaw Open for Wi-Fi

In the past couple of weeks, people have probably noticed that their phones are linking to the ShawOpen Wi-Fi network and no longer automatically to the UBCSecure network. As a result, your smartphone devices do not get updates on calendar invites, emails, etc. To ensure that you connect to UBCSecure while on campus, go to your device setting, select Wi-Fi and “forget” ShawOpen.

Here’s a second chance to Take action with a free cardiovascular risk assessment

Cardiovascular disease affects the heart and blood vessels, and results in heart attacks, strokes (in the brain) and angina (chest pain). The good news is that most people can reduce their risk of cardiovascular disease, heart attack and stroke through awareness, knowledge and healthy choices.

Last August, UBC Health, Wellbeing and Benefits in collaboration with the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, invited UBC faculty and staff to participate in a unique project called CAMMPUS (Cardiovascular Assessment and Medication Management by Pharmacists at the UBC Site).

Learn more about CAMMPUS and join a short presentation and discussion on September 30.  Click here to register.
